Village Shuga, District Buner is inhabited by over 1,500 population. A stream divides the village in two and it was difficult to cross during Monsoon rains.
“The stones served as a passage to connect both sides of the village. We could not cross the stony passage fearing deep water, especially during monsoons. It was difficult for women, students and adults to go to the other side of the river during these months” said, Shams ur Rehma, a school teacher.
The constructed bridge now connects the village Shuga. The 90 feet long and 5 feet wide suspension bridge was completed during 9 months. The bridge allows easy access for women, children, adults and livestock. The scheme was completed under EU funded PEACE programme.
