Pakistan work-age population was massive 62% in 2019 and increasing continuously. Keeping in view, this ever-increasing workforce, the capacity for delivering demand driven training services remain insufficient to meet modern labour market challenges resulting in an unemployed youth. For producing highly skilled/semi-skilled worforce to fill the ever increasing and widening skills gap, Sarhad Rural Support Programme has established state of the art TVET centre in Peshawar..
Established in 1996, the center adopts a professionalize approach to deliver specialized skills trainings duly certified by City and Guilds, UK, SDC-Go-Pak, & TTB, Go-KP. The center has so far trained a massive 490,000 members across all province.

Key Features
The certification and recognition by City & Guilds UK, Skills Development Council-Gov. of Pak and Trade Testing Board-Go-KP increases likelihood of training participants to be absorbed by provincial, national and even international job markets
The center, equipped with labs and multiple workshops, offers residential and non-residential courses. The participants are exposed to theory augmented with practical skills for at least 8 hours a day
The rich resource pool of experts in leadership, managerial, technical, vocational, and specialized trainings gives an edge to the center. The center engages over 200 professionals of highest caliber to deliver need-based trainings.

Starting with few trades or specialized trainings in 1996, today the center offers over 80 trades as per needs of community members in programme areas and partner organizations.

An internal assessment of participants trained revealed that 73% have been able to find employment opportunities.
The courses offered by the center ranges from 1 to 6 months. One of the integral components of these courses is to conduct Business Management Skills Training to orient participants on business cycle; an aspect which is widely acknowledged by partners and participants to orient potential future entrepreneurs.
Mobile Training Units
Keeping socio-cultural context in view, the center, to encourage women, has mobile training units for delivering trainings in local areas. Being a gender sensitive organization, SRSP creates an enabling environment for developing women’s skills for availing decent employment opportunities. These needs based mobile units are not limited to women only. Infact men in far flung areas have also been benefitting from such cost-effective ventures and measures.
