
PPAF-SRSP Programme for Poverty Alleviation (PPR)
SRSP and PPAF are partnering to implement Programme for Poverty Reduction in districts Lower Dir, Upper Dir, Chitral and Bajaur Tribal district. PPR comprises five major components i.e. Institutional Development (ID); Livelihood Enhancement/ Protection (LEP); Small scale infrastructure (CPI) projects; Improvement of Health services and Improvement of Education services. Interventions under the project are carried out in close coordination with community institutions, district administration and relevant government line agencies.
PPR has effectively contributed towards enhancing capacities of local communities in Sustainable Development Goals, Peace & Harmony, Pluralism, environment, Gender Mainstreaming, & Governance.
Five major components & achievements

- The programme fostered 1,063 community-based women & men institutions at three levels (Mohallah, Village & Union Council) with 25,000 households as its members. These community-based institutions supported in developed 100 UC development plans.

PPR has been able to create sustainable income generating & livelihood improvement opportunities through livelihood trainings, provision of productive assets & market linkages.

PPR initiated 207 infrastructure schemes e.g. irrigation channels, st. pavement & sanitation, bridges, drinking water schemes, solar panel, and link roads with a cost of PKR 219 million benefitting more than 35,000 households.

PPR has contributed in improving H & H services. 170 men/women CRPs have been developed on disease prevention, health seeking behavior, nutrition, hygiene, MNCH and WASH. Health forums in all 4 districts are established to take a lead on improving health through engagement of relevant stakeholder.

District education development forums are also developed to bring together all relevant stakeholders highlighting, discussing and devising appropriate solutions to improve delivery of quality education services.

PPR conducted 46 trainings on disaster risk management for students & teachers, developed 160 PTCs for undertaking their roles & responsibilities effectively, & enhanced capacity of 400 teachers in ECE and joyful learning techniques.
